Terrorism

Terrorism is defined as an act that is violent or dangerous to human life, with the intent of furthering political or social objectives.

The threat of terrorism affects all communities both nationally and internationally.  History has shown that no community is immune.  Terrorism is a concern for people in all geographic areas and demographic groups.  Terrorists, both Domestic and International, have demonstrated they have the knowledge and capability to strike anywhere in the world.

Domestic Terrorism involves groups or individuals whose terrorist activities are directed at elements of our government or population without foreign direction.

International Terrorism involves groups or individuals whose terrorist activities are foreign-based and/or directed by countries or groups outside the United States or whose activities transcend national boundaries.
