Medical Reserve Corps

The Medical Reserve Corps (part of the Citizen Corps) is a federally funded program aimed at recruiting and training both medical and non-medical volunteers who can contribute their skills and expertise to their communities in a disaster.  The McHenry County Medical Reserve Corps was formed in response to President George W. Bush’s 2002 call for all Americans to step forward to support their community and their country should disaster strike.

Our Medical Reserve Corps is an important part of the Health Department’s emergency response program.  Without these pre-identified and trained volunteers, we would be hard pressed to meet our responsibilities to the McHenry County community.
